Language is essential! I am not sure there is anything more influential in our lives? It's funny you mention "the season for non-violence" it's nice to see discrepancies in things that I have a tendency to have a strong affection for and maybe don't see these kinds of things. i.e. Mile Hi Church. One of the places I see this the most is in parenting. And it can also be related to student/teacher.
