Good point, Linda! Often we assume there’s something hiding behind that answer, like avoidance or denial. But sometimes “I don’t know” is the most honest answer in the moment. That acknowledgment is also a great first step to opening up to the “looking”.

I have to remind my husband that “I don’t know” is a perfectly acceptable response. You don’t always have to have the answer. Sometimes it takes a while to find it and I think the process of ‘looking’ is often more important than ‘finding,’ too…

As always I enjoy your newsletter.
One of the tunes that used to tickle me a lot is John Cougar Mellancamps ditty with the lyric
“Some times love don’t feel like it should.
Come on baby, make it hurt so good.!”
I’ll have to say that that philosophy works better for salsa, than for a relationship.
